Rebreather Liveaboard in Thailand

Rebreather Liveaboard South Tour to Hin Daeng, Hin Muang and Koh Haa

Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are only about 500 meters from each other away and are made of cliffs, plateaus and rock formations. Three of these rocks just break the surface. Hin Daeng means “Red Rock” because the site is covered with red soft corals, which are just a delight. In often clear water, the steep walls seduces rebreather divers to go into the depths. Reef sharks, manta rays and whale sharks are frequent and welcome visitors of the dive site, which can be fully admired thanks to a rebreather. Among others, leopard sharks, great barracuda, octopus and cleaner shrimps can be encountered. The innumerable cracks and crevices are a preferred habitat for many different species of pipefish.

Hin Muang means “Purple Rock” and is completely submerged. The name for this dive site comes from the stunning purple soft corals that draw an incomparable image. Although only a short distance from Hin Daeng away, the underwater landscape is entirely different. At this impressive dive site, consisting of a huge rock of about 200 meters long and strewn with anemones, is furthermore the deepest drop-off in the Andaman Sea located. Accordingly amazing is the variety and number of marine species. It’s worth to dive with the rebreather just off the rock into blue waters, because there are often mantas and whale sharks around.

Koh Haa is approached on the way to Hin Daeng/Hin Muang. The two well-known dive sites like The Twin Cathedral and The Chimney are just worth to dive with rebreathers. At Twin Cathedral two huge caves are with a swim-trough interconnected. Immersing in this cave landscape with a rebreather, silently and without bubbles, is unique. The Chimney is just one highlight of this dive site that offers so much more for rebreather divers. At the end of the dive you can immerse into the chimney and slide the endless narrow corridor up slowly, where you arrive by a small exit at the reef in shallow water.
